New Carolina is the new brand of the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness.
You can watch their “Rising As One” video (19m quicktime file), which was produced for their launch. It's very upbeat, without glossing over the challenges we face.
If you haven't seen it yet, you'll enjoy it.

I am 100% in favor of the "New Carolina" brand and what the Council on Competitiveness has presented as their plan. But looking at the new website i am struck by the thought that my chosen area of expertise has been mistakenly left out of the Council and the state's efforts to promote wealth creation. This isn't a new thought, i know we struggled with in at InnoVenture too. How do you focus without losing your existing audience. Many of our technology companies might take offence that technology in general or even information technology specifically is not a cluster. I would suggest that the folks at Blackbaud, Datastream, TiBA, BenefitFocus, VC3, Vigilix/Proactive, North Gate Labs, Customer Effective, TeamPoint, AssetPoint, and all the ex-NCR folks scattered around the state with their companies - do, in fact, merit the attention of the council as a cluster. But whether we as an IT group will ever develop a $200 Billion company in SC, is immaterial - we do provide the IT backbone on which each of these other clusters will rely to become that home run wealth creating engine.
